This 5 days 4 nights safari to Queen Elizabeth national park will begin and end in Kampala Uganda’s capital and its largest city. It will enable you enjoy many safari activities such as game drive, boat cruise and chimpanzee tracking the major highlight of this 5 days safari.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your accommodation

Upon your arrival at Entebbe international airport you will be met and greeted by our tour company guide who will then transfer you to your booked accommodation in Kampala/Entebbe at at elephant safari village, Boma Guest House, Cassia Lodge, Hotel Africana for an overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

You will be picked up from your accommodation after breakfast and later transfer to the south western park of Uganda up to Queen Elizabeth national park, the drive will take approximately 6-7 hours on a clear day. You will have the first stop over at the equator crossing for photography and refreshments, after continue with your safari, along the way you will be in position to sight banana and tea plantations, long horned Ankole cattle among other interesting views. Have a second stop over at Mbarara for lunch. After this short break you will embark on your drive up to the park, check in into your booked accommodation. The evening is reserved for leisure at the lodge, Dinner and an overnight at Mweya safari Lodge, Katara Lodge, Jacana safari lodge(luxury), kyambura game Lodge, Ihamba safari Lodge samba safari Lodge( midrange) Engazi lodge(budget)

Day 3: Game drives and launch cruise

Early morning game drives along the Kasenyi area of the park to catch up with very many species of wildlife that rushes out from their hideouts, Games expected to see include lion, leopard, elephant, buffaloes, waterbucks, antelopes, warthogs among others and bird lovers, expect to see various species of birds like African skimmer, pick-backed pelicans. The guide is readily available to accompany you during the game drive to give you relative information on any flora and fauna you meet during the game drive. After this magnificent activity you will embark on a slow drive back to the lodge for full breakfast and leisure.

After lunch you will go for a two hours boat cruise along the kazinga channel that connects lakes Kyoga and Edward, the boat cruise is so rewarding it will give you more chance of spotting various species of wildlife like schools of hippos, crocodiles and buffaloes and elephant will be seen along the shoreline plus various species of birds that live and feed on the lake like the kingfishers and bee-eaters, fish eagle among others. After you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Mweya safari Lodge, Katara Lodge, Jacana safari lodge (luxury), kyambura game Lodge, Ihamba safari Lodge, and Simba safari Lodge (midrange) Engazi lodge, Hippo Hillo Lodge, Simba safari camp (budget

 Day 4: Chimp tracking and nature walk

Wake up early in the morning for a cup of tea or coffee and then after you will be transferred to Kyambura Gorge at 8.00am for chimp tracking probably the most interesting activity done at the park. Chimps are fabulous fan to watch when playing in fruitful trees while doing their daily activities like feeding, playing, making nest, among others.

Nature walks at Queen Elizabeth National Park

Chimp tracking time is unpredictable as meeting them depends on where they last spent their night from, so it can go 1-6 hours searching them, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well as tracking gears such as strong shoes, long sleeved shirts or blouses, bottled water. Ounce chimps are met you are strictly allowed to stay with them for only one hour observing their behaviors as well as taking as many photos as you can (a flash camera is not allowed). Not only chimps but also other primate species like the black and white colobus monkeys, civet monkey, blue tailed monkey, baboons among others will also entertain you during chimpanzee tracking. After the activity retire back to the lodge for lunch.

If you have time in the evening go for another interesting activity nature walks to have a close contact with nature. The guide will take you through the forest to meet very many forest dwellers like various species of birds, and primate species, tree species in Maramagambio forest, or you, may choose to move through the Mweya Peninsula and also the Ishasha River for more opportunity to see schools of hippo in a close range. Day 5: Departure

The last day is reserved for departure, after a hearty breakfast, you will be driven back to Kampala with en route lunch and then later to the Entebbe international airport to meet your departure flight back home.
