Safari Over View

This safari will begin and end in Kampala Uganda’s capital and its largest city; it will take you to Murchison falls national park Uganda’s largest and one of the most visited Uganda national parks, the park is located in the eastern part of Uganda. The tour will give you a chance to visit the top of the falls an incredible sight for photography, you will also enjoy game viewing for an opportunity to see different species of wildlife the park houses, and also you will take a 2-3 hours at the Nile river for a wonderful experience and more chances to view games that live and feed and feed on the lake. From here you will proceed to Queen Elizabeth national Park in the south western part of Uganda for more safari activities, here you track the chimps and also enjoy a boat cruises on the Kazinga Channel.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls national park

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be met by our safari guide/driver brief you about the safari and later he will transfer you to Murchison falls national park via Luweero triangle and Nakasongola. The drive takes about 5-6 hours on the road, however you may choose to first track the white rhinos at ziwa rhino sanctuary before you proceed to the park (rhino tracking is at $45/ per person. It is the only place in Uganda where you can track the black and white Rhinos, after tracking have lunch at Amuka safari Lodge and then after lunch you will proceed to the park for relaxation, dinner and an overnight at (luxury) Paraa Safari Lodge, Pakuba game lodge, Nile safari lodge (midrange) Sambiya River Lodge, Bwana Tembo safari Lodge, (budget), Budongo Eco lodge, Red Chill rest camp Fort Murchison lodge

Day 2: Game drives and Boat cruise

Wake up early for a cup of tea/coffee and after, you will be driven to the northern part of the park to have a chance to see several species of animals that rush to their hide-outs. Games expected to see include lion, leopard, giraffe, elephant, Harte beast, Uganda Kob, Oribi, bush, warthogs among many others and many and a variety of Savannah and woodland birds, after this wonderful experience, retreat back to the lodge for full breakfast and lunch.

After lunch, you will embark on a 2-3 hours boat Cruise along the Nile River for a great experience and a chance to see more species of wildlife that live and feed on water.  You will have an up-close and personal with animals like Hippo and Crocodiles, while buffaloes and elephants are expected to be seen along the shoreline plus various species of birds including kingfishers and bee-eaters dashing along the riverbanks if lucky enough you may spot the rare shoebills. retreat back to the lodge for relaxation, Dinner and overnight at (luxury) Paraa Safari Lodge, Pakuba game lodge, Nile safari lodge (mid -range) Sambiya River Lodge, Bwana Tembo safari Lodge, (budget), Budongo Eco lodge, Red Chill rest camp Fort Murchison lodge

Day 3 Murchison-Queen Elizabeth national park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park a home to a wide variety of wildlife species. You will have en-route picturesque views to the spectacular Rwenzori Mountains the third tallest mountain in Africa; you will also have lunch en-route. Arrive at the park in the evening for relaxation and later dinner and an overnight stay at. Mweya safari Lodge, Katara Lodge, Jacana safari lodge (luxury), kyambura game Lodge, Ihamba safari Lodge samba safari Lodge (midrange) Enganzi lodge, Hippo Hillo Lodge, Simba safari camp (budget)

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and launch cruise

Early morning breakfast at the lodge to give you energy for chimp tracking after, you will be transferred to Kyambura gorge for short briefings about chimp tracking before 8:00am. After, the ranger guide will take you to the forest to begin the search of our closest relatives sharing almost 98% of human genes than any creature on earth. Chimp tracking is perhaps the most interesting safari activity done at the park. they are fabulous fan to watch when playing in fruitful trees/tree blanches, the search is unpredictable since they are wild animals, the search can go from 1-6 hours and meeting them depends on where they spent their night from, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as well as tracking gears like study pair of walking shoes/boots the forest sometimes is muddy. Only one hour is allowed with them once they are met utilize the one hour while taking photos as well as studding behaviors. Other primate species expected to see during chimp tracking include the black and white colobus monkeys, civet monkey, blue tailed monkey, baboons among others will entertain you during chimpanzee tracking. After, embark on a slow drive back to the lodge for lunch.

You will go for a two hours boat cruise along the Kazinga channel after lunch; the kazinga channel connects lakes Kyoga and Edward. Here you will be rewarded with more chance to see various species of wildlife, games expected to see include hippos, crocodiles just meters from the boat while buffaloes and elephant will be seen along the shoreline as well as many species of birds that live and feed on the Lake like the fish eagle among others. After embark on the slow drive back to the lodge for relaxation and later dinner and an overnight at Mweya safari Lodge, Katara Lodge, Jacana safari lodge(luxury), kyambura game Lodge, Ihamba safari Lodge samba safari Lodge( midrange) Enganzi lodge, Hippo Hillo Lodge, Simba safari camp (budget)

Day 5: Departure

Following a hearty breakfast at the lodge will be a transfer journey back to Kampala, with stopovers at Mbarara for lunch, equator crossing for photography and snacks and later you will be driven back to Kampala or to Entebbe Airport to meet your departure flight back home if scheduled on this day.
