Safari Over View

This three days safari to kibale forest national will begin and ends in Kampala Uganda’s capital and its largest city, it will take you to the south western part of Uganda to kibale forest national park Uganda’s most gifted national park that houses almost 13 species of primates some of them are rarely seen in other parks. It houses the closest relative of man that’s the chimps which shares almost 98%of human DNA, so this safari will enable you go for primate tracking and bigodi swamp walk.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: From Kampala to kibale forest national park

You will be met and get greeted by our company tour guide/driver who will get you briefed about the safari and later drive you to the southern part of Uganda to Fort Portal via Mityana Mubende on your way you will view various species of tea/banana plantations on the road sides. The lush rolling hills of this region provide good "photo opportunities. Arrive at the park early for lunch and later in the evening if time allows go for a community walk to meet the local people in (Fort Portal) the people in this town are locally famous for weaving and basketry making, and we can spend some time briefly to examine some of this local art. Dinner and an overnight at Kyaninga Lode, primate lodge kibale, Ndali Lodge (luxury), kibale forest Camp,Ruwenzori view guest house (midrange),chimpanzee Forest Guest House(budget)


Day 2: Chimp tracking and Bigodi Wetland sanctuary

This morning after a cup of tea/coffee report at Kanyanchu the park headquarter offices before 8:00am for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with chimpanzee, after you will be assigned to a ranger guide who will take you through the forest for chimpanzee tracking which is the most interesting activity done at the park.

Chimps are fabulous fun to watch when playing in fruitful trees or on tree blanch. The time you take to meet the chimps is un predictable as meeting them depends on where they spent their last night from, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed as tracking may go from 1-8 hours in the jungle, and you are reminded not to forget tracking gears such as strong shoe/boots, long sleeved shirts or blouses bottled water. Ounce you meet chimps you strictly allowed to stay with them for only one hour. Not only chimps, the park is blessed with many other primate species such as the Black and white Columbus monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Grey cheecked Mangabey, Red tailed monkeys, bush babies, the list is endless and bird lovers will get an opportunity to spot various species of birds among which include the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, Little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle and many animal species like buffaloes and antelopes. After the activity, return back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the evening you will go for another interesting activity at Bigodi an excellent wetland sanctuary for viewing various species of primates, birds and many forest animals like elephant, buffaloes, and warthogs among other. Dinner and an overnight stay at Kyaninga Lode, primate lodge kibale, Ndali Lodge (luxury), kibale forest Camp, Ruwenzori view guest house (midrange), chimpanzee Forest Guest House (budget)

Day3: Departure

Wakeup leisurely for a hearty breakfast, then after you will be driven back to Kampala passing via Mubende for Nakayima Cultural center, after proceed to Kampala/hotel/at the airport to meet your departure flight back home
