Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport
On your arrival at the Entebbe international airport, you will be met and greeted by our tour guide representatives who will later transfer you to your accommodation for leisure and dinner at (Budget) Elephant Safari Village, (mid-range) Cassia Lodge, Boma Guest House, (luxury) Hotel Africana, Serena Hotel
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
You will be picked up by our guide from your Lodge/ Hotel in the morning after breakfast, and later embark on 5-6 hours’ drive to the north-eastern park of Uganda, via Luweero triangle and Nakasongola, if interested track the rare animal the black and white rhino at the Ziwa rhino sanctuary at a fee of $40 per person, after proceed to Masindi town for lunch (Kolping Hotel). From here you will continue with your journey up to the top of the falls a fantastic view, here the Nile River is forced into a seven meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades. The Nile River can be viewed at different points up to Bakers Summit. After this wonderful views you will be transferred to your booked accommodation check in for dinner and an overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge, Pakuba Game Lodge, Nile Safari Lodge, (mid-range) Sambiya River Lodge, Bwana Temba Safari Lodge, (budget) Budongo Eco Lodge, Red Chill Rest Camp, Fort Murchison Lodge
Day 3: Game drive and launch cruise
This day you will take a ferry crossing to the northern bank of the Nile river escorted by a game ranger to catch up with a number of species that reside at the park, games expected to see include giraffe, elephant, warthogs, antelope species, lion, leopard, buffaloes, waterbuck, and baboons among many others. After take a slow drive back to the lodge for full breakfast and lunch, after lunch go for a two –three hour’s launch cruise on the Nile river up to the bottom of the river for more opportunity to come up with more animal species like schools of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants may be spotted along the shoreline plus various species of birds that feed on the lake like the fish eagle, lucky visitors may also spot the rare bird shoebills. After the activity you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight at Paraa safari lodge, Pakuba Game Lodge, Nile Safari Lodge, (mid-range) Sambiya River Lodge, Bwana Temba Safari Lodge, (budget) Budongo Eco Lodge, Red Chill Rest Camp, Fort Murchison Lodge
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale forest national park
This day after breakfast, we will embark on a transfer to kibale forest national park in the southwestern part of Uganda. The drive will take about 6-7 hours with a scenic drive all through, with fantastic views to people’s homes and banana/tea plantation. We will have lunch en-route in Fort Portal before we arrive at the park, arriving in the evening for leisure. Kibale forest national park is a home to over 13 species of primates coupled with chimpanzee the closest relative of man sharing almost 98% of human DNA make-up, other primate species include the black and white colobus monkey, baboons, civet monkey, grey checked manga bay, among many others. The park also house mammal species including elephant, buffaloes, giant forest hog, and many species of bird and tree. Dinner and an overnight at luxury) kyaninga lodge, Primate Lodge kibale, Ndali Lodge, (mid-range) Kibale Forest Camp, Rwenzori View Guest House, and Chimps Nest Lodge (budget) Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
Day 5: Chimp tracking and transfer to Kibale forest national park
Wake up very early in the morning for breakfast and then after, if you did not sleep at Budongo eco lodge you will be transferred to Budongo forest a famous place for chimpanzee before 8.00am for a short briefing about chimp tracking. After you will follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the activity, tracking may go from 1-4 hours as meeting them depends on where they spent the last night from.
Other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, civet monkeys, red tailed monkeys among others may also entertain you during the tracking. With packed lunch you will embark on a 7-8 hours’ drive transfer to kibale forest national park a home to over 13 species of primates and the major highlight of all the species include the chimpanzee. Arrive at the park in the late evening for dinner and an over at (luxury) kyaninga lodge, Primate Lodge kibale, Ndali Lodge, (mid-range) Kibale Forest Camp, Rwenzori View Guest House, and Chimps Nest Lodge (budget) Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
Day 6: Chimp tracking and Bigodi swamp sanctuary
Wake up early for breakfast at the lodge, then after you will embark on another chimp tracking activity in the tropical forest of kibale. Follow the guide to the park headquarters at Kanyacha to receive a short briefing about the chimp tracking, after the ranger guide will lead you to the forest to begin the activity possibly the most interesting activity at the park. Chimps are so fabulous to watch when playing in fruitful trees and on tree branches. Meeting chimps is unpredictable it can go from 1-6 hours in the jungle searching for them, so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed, ounce they are met you strictly allowed to stay with them for only one hour while observing their behaviors and also taking their photos. Other primates will also be seen during chimp tracking such as the black and white colobus monkey, baboons, civet monkey, grey checked mangbay, Lheast monkey among various species of birds. After head back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, then in the evening we shall go for another activity at bigodi swamp sanctuary, this place is a good viewing position for various species of primates, birds, butterflies among other species. Dinner and an overnight at (luxury) Kyaninga Lodge, Primate Lodge kibale, Ndali Lodge, (mid-range) Kibale forest Camp, Rwenzori View Guest House, and Chimps Nest Lodge (budget) Chimpanzee forest Guest House.
Day 7: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Visit the crater lakes around the park after come back for lunch and later embark on a 3-4 hours transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park one of the most Uganda’s biodiversity national park. We will enter the park via the northern crater area with beautiful lakes and rich grasslands which are set deep in the crater valley; this is truly the most breathtaking scenery in the park.
The park boost a wide biodiversity of wildlife you may spot some species of animals on the way to the park like antelopes, waterbucks, warthogs, baboons among others with various species of birds . Arrive in the evening for relaxation at the lodge. Day 8: Game drive and launch cruise
Wake up early for a cup of tea or coffee and then after drive to the Kasenyi area of the park for opportunity of seeing the cuts in action like leopard, lion, hyena others expected to see include elephant, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, primate species like baboons alongside various species of birds like the martial eagle, black rumped buttonquail, verreaux’s eagle owl and African skimmer to name but a few. The guide is readily available to give you relative information on any flora and fauna you meet on the way in order to make your safari is interesting. After the activity you will be driven back to the lodge for full breakfast and lunch. After lunch you will embark on a two hours launch cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects lakes Edward and Gorge for more opportunity to view various species of animals and birds that live and feed on the lake, view a thousand of Hippos, crocodiles, birds like the fish eagle, egrets, lucky visitors may also get chance to see the rare shoe bills, buffaloes and elephants may also be seen along the shorelines. Day 9: Queen –Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
This morning after breakfast you will then embark on another 4 hours transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the rare mountain gorillas over 400 individual reside in this park out of the 900 species that remained worldwide. It is a home to very many species of birds over 380 species and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda, bwind is truly a bird watchers heaven. You will pass via the southern sector of the park the Ishasha sector famously known for its tree climbing lions expect to spot them sited on tree branches before continuing on to bwindi.
Have lunch at the river camp and then after continue with your safari to Bwindi with a spectacular view through out. Arrive in the evening for leisure as you’re waiting for tomorrow’s wonderful activity that’s gorilla tracking. Day 10: Gorilla tracking
Early morning breakfast and then after the guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla tracking and also gets you assigned to a gorilla group. After follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the activity which is regarded as the most fascinating activity on earth. Gorillas are fan to watch in their natural habitat, however reaching the gorillas is unpredictable as it can take a half or full day in the jungle searching them, and since tracking is done in the rainy forest, it can rain at any time so a reasonable degree of fitness is recommended as well as sturdy pair of walking shoes/ boots. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male the silverback indeed it’s an extra ordinary encounter . Ounce they are met, you are only allowed one hour with gorillas. After the activity come back at the lodge for relaxation, If you have energy this evening go for a community walk to meet the local people around the park. Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast you will embark on a 4 hours’ drive to Lake Bunyonyi one of the deepest lakes in Africa and it was named due to very many small birds found on and around the lake. Arrive in time for lunch and later in the afternoon take a canoe ride around the lake with opportunity to view various species of birds like the fish eagle, egrets among others. You can decide to do some Cray fishing around the evergreen islands. Meals and overnight at the Farout Camp, Bunyonyi overland camp
Day 12: Transfer to Semuliki national park
Following your breakfast will embark on 5-6 hours transfer to Semulik national park the true birds heaven as it’s sometimes referred to, arrive at the park in the late afternoon, check in for lunch and relax, if you have energy this evening go to the hot spring an interesting activity done at the park. Hike through palm forest from their main road leads to the inner ‘’female’’ spring dominated by a boiling geyser. Eggs and matooke (green plantain) can be cooked in this boiling water and enjoyed by hungry hikers. Come back for dinner and an overnight at Semulik lodge, Semliki safari lodge.
Day 13: Game drive and bird watching
After breakfast head to the savannah grass land of Toro Semuliki wildlife reserve for opportunity to catch up with various species of animals games to see include the smaller and larger savannah elephants, buffaloes, waterbuck, crocodiles, warthogs, and Uganda kob among others, with luck you may even see pygmy hippopotami, leopard and elusive bush babies. After this wonderful moment take a slow drive back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch take another activity birding go to Sempaya and Ntandi which provide excellent viewing of different species of birds including the white crested horn bill, Red –billed Dwarf Hornbill, piping Hornbill, Yellow throated Nicator among many other. The shoebill stork is regularly seen at close quarter on Lake Albert. After, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight at Semulik lodge, Semliki safari lodge.
Day 14: Semulik national park –Lake Mburo national park
After breakfast at the lodge embark on a drive of about 3-4 hours up to Lake Mburo national park with good sights along the way. Arrive at the park in time for lunch and then after go for a boat trip along the lake Mburo, the boat trip is so rewarding as it will give you a chance to view schools of hippo, crocodiles, you will also see plenty of bird species that live and feed on the lake, buffaloes and elephants can also be spotted along the shoreline. Come back at the lodge for dinner and an overnight at Lake View Hotel, Rwenyo Tented Camp (budget) Arcadia Cottages (mid-range) Mantana and Mihingo (luxury)
Day 15: Game drive and natural walk
This morning after breakfast you will go for a game drive to catch up with various species of animals, games expected to see include zebra, elephant, warthogs, eland, impala, Uganda kobs, waterbuck, buffaloes just to mention but a few. After head back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch, Then after lunch you may decide to take a natural walk through flora and fauna culminating into a ‘’salt lake’’ where you will be fortunate to see a minimum of 4 different species of animals while they lick the salty soil. There after retire in time for dinner at your booked accommodation at. Dinner and an overnight at Lake View Hotel, Rwenyo Tented Camp (budget) Arcadia Cottages (mid-range) Mantana and Mihingo (luxury)
Day 16: Transfer to Jinja
On this day after a heavy breakfast you will embark on a 6-7 hours transfer to the eastern part of Uganda about 80 km from Kampala via Mabira forest Uganda’s largest forest, stopover to admire nature and also watch primate species like baboons, black and white colobus monkey, and civet monkey continue with journey with good views of the tea and sugar plantations. Arrive at the park in the evening, check in to your booked lodge/hotel in Jinja. You may decide to move around Jinja town, visit the market places and many other interesting places around. Dinner and an overnight at Nile Resort Jinja, Wild Waters Lodge, Nile Hotel jinja
Day 17: White water rafting and transfer back to Kampala.
Wake up leisurely for a hearty breakfast, after you will head to the Nile River and enjoy a life time memory activity that’s white water rafting to the bottom of the Nile, the white water rafting is considered one of the best in the world. If not you can go for bungee jumping, the 44 meters jump from above the Nile River. Don’t forget your swimsuit, changing outfit, sunglasses, and sunscreen. After this activity drive back to the lodge for lunch and the later embark on a 3- 4 hour’s drive back to Kampala. Day 18: Ngamba Island and later departure
This morning after breakfast, go to Lake Victoria and take a ferry to Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary, the island is a home to over 40 orphaned or rescued chimps, they are habituated to human standards and they are so fabulous fan to watch, participate in feeding them, as well as taking as many photos as you can. After lunch take a ferry back to the main land and later to the airport to meet you departure flight back home.
